Pink Truth Affects Our Attitude
From a Mary Kay sales director to other sales directors:
Hey Ladies,
I’m not sure if everyone realizes this, but every single time we go to a negative MK site “just to see” what is going on there we increase their hits which causes their sites to come up higher on search engines.
What does that mean to us. It’s simple. Anyone who is thinking about becoming a consultant could have her dream taken from her if she decides to go online to do some research herself and happens to land on one of these sites. Now we all know that our success is this company is up to us and that we are bound by God & the company to do it the right way. We also know that there are those that haven’t done it right and we need to pray for those they hurt and for them to.
Not only can it affect your team building, it also affects your attitude about your own business. It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity. It’s even harder to keep it. Everytime we allow ourselves to read this stuff, it absolutely affects our attitude or belief, and many will start to self-doubt and that starts a downhill spiral of emotions that could kill your dream. Do you really want that for yourself or anyone else for that matter. You have to reach up to go up. Don’t take a chance even once reaching down. You cannot afford it. You become like the 5 people you hang around the most. Has one of these sites become one of your people? (Yes, unfortunately we now live in a society that internet sites see more of us than most people.)
These sites will only go away if they don’t get any hits. They relish in the fact that people go to see just out of curiosity. It always does more harm than good.
I really hurt for all those that have been misled &/or mistreated. I just know that my mission is to never make the same mistakes so as to never harm anyone in my unit.
I am also thankful for the fact that this has happened to only a very small percentage of women who have chosen the Mary Kay journey. There are more of us that are good & Godly women who really do strive to enrich women’s lives and live by the Golden Rule and Go-Give philosophy!
We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own. So, let’s not allow theses negative sites anymore ammunition and ban ourselves from those sites. As Directors, we have an obligation to ourselves, our company, and our unit to protect ourselves, our company, and our unit. One way to do that is to stay off these sites.
You know for the first 11 years in my business, I never knew anything about these sites. The one thing I regret is going to see for myself one day. Reading that site totally ruined my day and now looking back, I now realize it ruined more than just that one day for me. I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder. Yes, it was my own choice to take a look, but I’ll never do it again. It cost me too much emotionally. I’ll stick to positive MK videos and listening to Top Sales Directors and Nationals on how to do this business the right way. I will not be taken down any longer.
Just my 2 cents. Have a great day!
Note to Mary Kay director: Pink Truth isn’t going away.
Hey, Ladies,
I didn’t give a hoot about MK one way or the other until this past summer, when one of your number aggravated me and my cousin at a restaurant when she first eavesdropped on our conversation and then refused to take “no” for an answer. These weren’t soft, indecisve no’s, they were clearly stated firm no’s, and this blatant disrespect of both boundaries and social norms got me so steamed up that I Googled Mary Kay, mainly to find out if this was just one pushy saleswoman or if this was the norm.
Pink Truth popped up, and since it was truth I was after, I started by reading the items on the masthead. Then the articles. Then the archives. All of them. I was shocked to discover that what I had thought of as a somewhat stodgy old-lady makeup company was just another predatory MLM like LulaRoe, like Herbalife, etc.
It was all there: the endless drive to recruit because that’s the only way to make money. How the pink dream is a neverending nightmare for 99% of its victims. That’s not a “very small percentage”; that’s nearly ALL THE PERCENTAGE. The debt, the broken relationships, the despair hidden under fake smiles. The numbers, dissected and analyzed by people who understand business and finance.
I still think what I thunk all along – that if you were so super secure in Mary Kay and your choices, criticism wouldn’t bother you. The fact that it does means that something about what you do doesn’t sit right with you, and instead of burying that doubt under yet more pink fluff and trite slogans, face it and figure out where it comes from.
Meanwhile, I’ll keep visiting this site every day and driving up the page views so that it’s here to educate others previously unaware, like me, to help those whose pink bubble has popped and need guidance on how to get out, and to hopefully get some of the empinkened(tm) to stop and take a hard look at what their lives have become.
I’ll keep on enjoying the insightful, well-written, intelligent articles and the fact that this is the rarest of beasts: a harmonious online community.
Just MY two cents. Have a great day!
PS: Good grief, you’re not “bound” by God, the spirit of Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash(tm), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, or anyone else, to do anything. You have free will. There’s no evil wizard controlling your mind. Drama queen.

I, for one, am glad you found your way here to join in the snark.
And since I’ve finished most of my household chores, now removal not counting…yuck, I don’t have to spend 12 hours a day desperately trying to make those last few orders before the end of the month .
Nor will I be attempting to shift any of that mountain of products I ordered earlier in the month by hanging around factories, garages or shops, in a blizzard, in the vain hopes that some man has forgotten to buy the lady or ladies in his life an over-priced last minutes gift.
I upvoted the heck out of this one! 😉
That should have been snow removal.
And it sounds like several of the local factories closed yesterday instead of today giving their staff an extra day of (paid) leave. The school boards called for a snow day at 4pm yesterday.
“I really hurt for all those that have been misled &/or mistreated. I just know that my mission is to never make the same mistakes so as to never harm anyone in my unit.”
Good. Set a realistic time limit on how long you will continue to run a money losing down-line, and get out when that time limit is reached.
Note: The metric here is money spent vs. money earned, in the aggregate, for your entire down-line. So long as more money is spent than earned, you are responsible for the financial harm occurring in your down-line so long as you continue. Don’t forget to include those who have left the business on your watch. These also count since you are responsible for their losses as well.
Spoiler alert: There is no evidence that any MLM down-line since the beginning of time has been profitable as a whole. Meanwhile there is abundant research that confirms that all endless-chain recruiting schemes like Mary Kay create aggregate losses in every single down-line. This should not be a surprise, since this is exactly what these schemes are designed to do.
“There is no evidence that any MLM down-line since the beginning of time has been profitable as a whole.”—
(For lurkers) Why? Because money to pay upline has to come from somewhere. It doesn’t just magically appear. See: “Zero-Sum Game”. To further understand this statement, you need to know this:
Retailing to non-affiliate customers is not necessary in the MLM system. In fact, MLM inherently works against selling the products to outsiders vs. recruiting “in-house buyers” and building a team/unit with them.
Consultants are the “buying force”. Jerry Springer: “You ARE the customer.”
Hey Ladies,
I’m not sure if everyone realizes this, but every single time we go to a negative MK site “just to see” what is going on there we increase their hits which causes their sites to come up higher on search engines.
Hey ladies, welcome to basic computer algorithms.
What does that mean to us. It’s simple. Anyone who is thinking about becoming a consultant could have her dream taken from her if she decides to go online to do some research herself and happens to land on one of these sites.
We have to stop anyone having the most basic knowledge about the over-whelming downsides of the Mary Kay nightmare.
Now we all know that our success is this company is up to us and that we are bound by God & the company to do it the right way.
Ladies, we know it is only by a miracle that you make money. And given how frequently you like to flout the most basic commands of your own religion, you are not bound to God but another supernatural being.
We also know that there are those that haven’t done it right and we need to pray for those they hurt and for them to.
You are not praying for those ladies, you are preying on them. Especially those you hurt and continue to hurt and actively hunt to hurt.
Not only can it affect your team building, it also affects your attitude about your own business. It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity. It’s even harder to keep it.
Oh no, don’t worry about the curtain. There’s no-one behind it. And being positive all the time isn’t a healthy way to live.
Everytime (sic) we allow ourselves to read this stuff, it absolutely affects our attitude or belief, and many will start to self-doubt and that starts a downhill spiral of emotions that could kill your dream.
Keep drinking the Pink flavor-aid. Mommy needs you to buy her Pink Caddy.
Do you really want that for yourself or anyone else for that matter. You have to reach up to go up. Don’t take a chance even once reaching down.
Remember it’s for the Team Pink Caddy.
You cannot afford it.
You can’t afford what you’ve already paid for your pile of unsold make-up. So buy so more because Mommy needs her Pink Caddy.
You become like the 5 people you hang around the most.
I could hang around the likes of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk etc. all day, and never be like them. And I wouldn’t get there by trying to hawk cheap make-up.
Has one of these sites become one of your people? (Yes, unfortunately we now live in a society that internet sites see more of us than most people.)
Yup, this site is one of my go-to sites each day, Reddit, Pink Truth and the book of faces.
These sites will only go away if they don’t get any hits. They relish in the fact that people go to see just out of curiosity. It always does more harm than good.
If people land here out of curiosity or through Reddit since the r/antiMLM subreddit recommends the site at least once a week, then the site is safe. I think your idea of harm is different to mine. You want mainly women to believe blindly in your lies and evasions, while I and the others here are pointing out the nuances and facts to help some-one make up their mind without blinders on.
I really hurt for all those that have been misled &/or mistreated. I just know that my mission is to never make the same mistakes so as to never harm anyone in my unit.
Ladies, she’s sorry that all of the Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash approved scripts hurt you. But she’s going to carry on using them because they “produce results”. And if general you get misled &/or mistreated, it’s probably your own fault.
I am also thankful for the fact that this has happened to only a very small percentage of women who have chosen the Mary Kay journey.
99% is truly a very small percentage in the whole scenario of Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s scheme.
There are more of us that are good & Godly women who really do strive to enrich women’s lives and live by the Golden Rule and Go-Give philosophy!
Now, hold your skunk and sit down quietly. Your actions speak louder than your words.
We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own.
Except when her decisions affects our commission and Pink Caddy. Then she needs to follow my decisions.
So, let’s not allow theses negative sites anymore ammunition and ban ourselves from those sites.
What ever you do, don’t peek behind the curtain. You might get an inkling that’s all is not well in Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash-world.
As Directors, we have an obligation to ourselves, our company, and our unit to protect ourselves, our company, and our unit. One way to do that is to stay off these sites.
If I had received this e-mail, by now I would have been so intrigued that I would be browsing the site. She’s certainly giving the Serpent a run for it’s money in the curiosity stakes.
You know for the first 11 years in my business, I never knew anything about these sites. The one thing I regret is going to see for myself one day.
Depends on when you started your so-called business, I guess.
Reading that site totally ruined my day and now looking back, I now realize it ruined more than just that one day for me. I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder.
Seeing number laid out in black and white, seeing your lies dissected is eye-opening, isn’t it? It planted the seed of doubt that keeps trying to sprout.
Yes, it was my own choice to take a look, but I’ll never do it again. It cost me too much emotionally.
Somehow I suspect you still come here often.
I’ll stick to positive MK videos and listening to Top Sales Directors and Nationals on how to do this business the right way. I will not be taken down any longer.
Got to keep that good olde Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash brain-washing on 24/7/365. Otherwise those doubts come creeping back every-time my Pink Caddy co-pay isn’t enough.
Just my 2 cents. Have a great day!
well, you just blew your annual commission on this.
Wonder what her copay is.
Ridiculous Downvote Alert!
Cult, cult, cult! Nothing but a cult tells you to ignore outside information. Cult!
tldr:
Build yourself an echo chamber so that you never leave Mary Kay and I can keep making money off of you.
Oh yes, I’m sure she is still reading here and something very recently hit just a little too close to home: hence the defensive tirade.
I noticed a lot of up and down-voting happening over on the posts about Monique Vallair Anthony and her fraud-cases recently.
“It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity. It’s even harder to keep it.” It’s DANGEROUS to have this degree of impenetrable positivity. It’s called “toxic positivity” https://thepsychologygroup.com/toxic-positivity/
“I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder. Yes, it was my own choice to take a look, but I’ll never do it again. It cost me too much emotionally.”
Those negative thoughts, the ones you keep having? Yeah, that’s called your intuition. Your subconscious. Your gut instincts. It’s the little voice that tells you, “Hmmm… the kiddos are being WAY too quiet. I need to see what they’re up to.” And you walk into a room with green shag carpet and said kiddos have emptied an ENTIRE can of baby powder into the carpet because they saw you sprinkle powder into the carpet. (True story…. my sister and I did this, and my mother found powder under the carpet 2 years later.)
You’re ignoring all of these warning signs. You said that it cost you too much emotionally. That is not healthy and will continue to create toxicity in your life and the life of your family.
So sorry we “icked on your wow” or whatever that juvenile phrase is.
“impenetrable”…that’s a pretty big word for a Kaybot. As much as I hate to admit it, this one has a decent grasp on grammar. But I can’t help thinking I’ve seen this post before…perhaps on the boards? Regardless, she still doesn’t share where SHE sits in the current MK income rankings. Another Friday, another Kaybot calling us out while being a huge failure in her MK “business”.
“yucked your yum” LOL
Restricting information to only approved sources is a cult manipulation technique.
Also, 1.) that isn’t how SEO works and 2.) I haven’t heard the term “hits” used since the 00s. Regardless, we all know that PinkTruth gets plenty of views and will continue to as long as the MK scam is around!
