What Do We Say to People Reading Pink Truth?
This is an old Facebook post from a private Mary Kay group called “Let’s Talk Pink.” But I wanted to post it because it’s so instructive about what it’s like to be in the Pink Fog. We’ve been at it over here at Pink Truth for more than 17 years, but the mindset of the MK ladies never seems to change.
The misinformation amuses me. Isn’t that what we get accused of all the time? Giving out false information about Mary Kay? And yet they will give out false information about Pink Truth.
The cool thing is that just by them talking about us, more people will be curious and take a look. And we know the stories here are compelling and can change hearts and minds.
No, I was never a director. And thanks but I have plenty of initiative and critical thinking… which is why I have a very successful (real) business.

She makes this rule sound like the exception. Over-ordering is the foundation of Mary Kay Corp’s business plan. They’d go out of business without it.
Notice how no one selling Mary Kay ever questions the percentage of Mary Kay inventory ordered that actually makes it into the hands of outside (paying) customers? That little nugget, if tracked, would reveal this sham sold as a business opportunity.
Mary Kay will NOT track retail sales for this very reason!!!

Could be an amusing idea for Pink Truth fanfiction: What Would Ellen Say? Especially to someone like Heather Means, who was brave enough to admit that she reads here and took some of the stuff to heart.
Ellen hates Let’s Talk Pink! This was a comment she left on a post in the Director’s Only group. A lot of directors were getting mad because product launches and news that were supposed to be just for directors were getting leaked and ended up being posted in LTP.

I beg to differ. 10 years of “success” in mk completing 20/20 months regularly, gold medals, many red jackets in my unit , 5 of those years as a director isn’t nothing.

Lack of initiative? Lack of success? As I lay here reading this I realize how my family’s income has multiplied by nearly 9x since leaving. I would like to know which directors could have afforded my travel costs this year? Let’s not forget, in mk I was paraded on stages at fall retreats, quarterly events, red jacket retreats etc as a successful inspiration to the consultants. You can’t call me unsuccessful, but put your unit members in front of me as an example of success.
