Pink Truth Affects Our Attitude
From a Mary Kay sales director to other sales directors:
Hey Ladies,
I’m not sure if everyone realizes this, but every single time we go to a negative MK site “just to see” what is going on there we increase their hits which causes their sites to come up higher on search engines.
What does that mean to us. It’s simple. Anyone who is thinking about becoming a consultant could have her dream taken from her if she decides to go online to do some research herself and happens to land on one of these sites. Now we all know that our success is this company is up to us and that we are bound by God & the company to do it the right way. We also know that there are those that haven’t done it right and we need to pray for those they hurt and for them to.
Not only can it affect your team building, it also affects your attitude about your own business. It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity. It’s even harder to keep it. Everytime we allow ourselves to read this stuff, it absolutely affects our attitude or belief, and many will start to self-doubt and that starts a downhill spiral of emotions that could kill your dream. Do you really want that for yourself or anyone else for that matter. You have to reach up to go up. Don’t take a chance even once reaching down. You cannot afford it. You become like the 5 people you hang around the most. Has one of these sites become one of your people? (Yes, unfortunately we now live in a society that internet sites see more of us than most people.)
These sites will only go away if they don’t get any hits. They relish in the fact that people go to see just out of curiosity. It always does more harm than good.
I really hurt for all those that have been misled &/or mistreated. I just know that my mission is to never make the same mistakes so as to never harm anyone in my unit.
I am also thankful for the fact that this has happened to only a very small percentage of women who have chosen the Mary Kay journey. There are more of us that are good & Godly women who really do strive to enrich women’s lives and live by the Golden Rule and Go-Give philosophy!
We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own. So, let’s not allow theses negative sites anymore ammunition and ban ourselves from those sites. As Directors, we have an obligation to ourselves, our company, and our unit to protect ourselves, our company, and our unit. One way to do that is to stay off these sites.
You know for the first 11 years in my business, I never knew anything about these sites. The one thing I regret is going to see for myself one day. Reading that site totally ruined my day and now looking back, I now realize it ruined more than just that one day for me. I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder. Yes, it was my own choice to take a look, but I’ll never do it again. It cost me too much emotionally. I’ll stick to positive MK videos and listening to Top Sales Directors and Nationals on how to do this business the right way. I will not be taken down any longer.
Just my 2 cents. Have a great day!
Note to Mary Kay director: Pink Truth isn’t going away.
Is today’s TRUTH critic addressing 7 year olds, or grown @$$ people? If the latter, then they are free to look at whatever sites they choose and deem appropriate for their edification. To discourage them appears HIGHLY cultish, and I would think will encourage them FURTHER, to gaze at the “forbidden.”
Good companies welcome critical feedback…this is how you improve your product and/or customer service. It would be so interesting to do a survey of the MK downline and customers.
What do you think the top 5 complaints would be, and is anyone in Mary Kay doing anything about those issues? Or are they simply shutting down discussion by refusing to allow such “negative” talk?
My guess is that the folks visiting this site would mostly agree on the top 5 issues with selling or buying Mary Kay products. And that Mary Kay Corp is doing absolutely nothing about any of these top issues.
Only in cults and fraudulent enterprises do the higher-ups insist on “ignoring the negative”. Such a posture has no place in a proper business.
Hey Ladies,
Hi!
I’m not sure if everyone realizes this, but every single time we go to a negative MK site “just to see” what is going on there we increase their hits which causes their sites to come up higher on search engines.
Welcome to basic algorithms.
What does that mean to us.
A lot.
It’s simple. Anyone who is thinking about becoming a consultant could have her dream taken from her if she decides to go online to do some research herself and happens to land on one of these sites.
It must be a weak dream to peddle if the existence of one website causes people who stumble on to it doing their research makes them think twice.
Now we all know that our success is this company is up to us and that we are bound by God
Personally I don’t think God has anything to do with MLMs.
& the company to do it the right way. We also know that there are those that haven’t done it right and we need to pray for those they hurt and for them to.
So, we should take the coward’s way out and not try to change anyone from committing wrong-doings? Got it.
Not only can it affect your team building, it also affects your attitude about your own business. It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity. It’s even harder to keep it.
But we’ve decided not to challenge anything that’s wrong and just carry on hiding the bad and by doing that condoning it.
Everytime (sic) we allow ourselves to read this stuff, it absolutely affects our attitude or belief, and many will start to self-doubt and that starts a downhill spiral of emotions that could kill your dream.
As I said, weak dream if it cannot stand external scrutiny.
Do you really want that for yourself or anyone else for that matter. You have to reach up to go up. Don’t take a chance even once reaching down. You cannot afford it.
What a bunch of useless platitudes.
You become like the 5 people you hang around the most.
I wouldn’t mind being more like a cat. They seem to have a good life.
Has one of these sites become one of your people? (Yes, unfortunately we now live in a society that internet sites see more of us than most people.)
That’s a You Problem, not mine.
Oh noes, we’re dream-stealing! “Anyone who is thinking about becoming a consultant could have her dream taken from her if she decides to go online to do some research herself and happens to land on some” FACTS and reality.
“We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own.” It’s NEVER going to be in YOUR best interest to recruit a customer to turn them into a competitor … why do you do this?
“We all know that every decision we make should be in [Mary Kay’s] best interest, not our own.”
WTAF?
The woman died almost 24 years ago and is far beyond being affected by anything that happens on this earth. She certainly hasn’t seen fit to intercede with the company she created to make herself a bunch of money or the women she manipulated into making it for her.
On the contrary, you have to put yourself first. You can’t be a good spouse /parent /friend /business owner (a MLM distributorship isn’t a business, but let’s pretend) unless you prioritize your physical, mental, and ideally financial health first.
If you were 100% happy and secure in your chosen occupation, one negative site on the internet wouldn’t have affected you that much. Instead of trying to bury your feelings under a ton of pink fluff, try exploring those feelings and pinning down where they come from.
Oh, and if I’ve become like the 5 most prolific posters here and on the messageboard, that’s a compliment. One could do way worse than hanging with intelligent, insightful professionals who aren’t afraid to look at things realistically.
That right there is some straight up cult talk and should raise huge red flags for anyone considering Mary Kay. And I would know. Been in a cult. Language like that is what snapped me fully out of the Pink Bubble.
These sites will only go away if they don’t get any hits. They relish in the fact that people go to see just out of curiosity. It always does more harm than good.
It’s over 16 years by now Pink Truth has open on-line. Reddit has several anti-MLM subs, I know of 5 Facebook ant-MLM groups, there’s at least seven YouTube channels that are involved in the anti-MLM movement. We aren’t going away. We are getting stronger.
I really hurt for all those that have been misled &/or mistreated. I just know that my mission is to never make the same mistakes so as to never harm anyone in my unit.
Fingers crossed, because I don’t really care who I hurt in perusing My Dream.
I am also thankful for the fact that this has happened to only a very small percentage of women who have chosen the Mary Kay journey.
Can you point out to the 99.7% of people who join Mary Kay where they are a low percentage on this table from Mary Kay Corp?

There are more of us that are good & Godly women who really do strive to enrich women’s lives and live by the Golden Rule and Go-Give philosophy!
Like I said, I don’t think God is involved at all.
We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own.
Which is why we demand she spends as much as we need to finish our artificial threshold.
So, let’s not allow theses negative sites anymore ammunition and ban ourselves from those sites. As Directors, we have an obligation to ourselves, our company, and our unit to protect ourselves, our company, and our unit. One way to do that is to stay off these sites.
Can’t have any dissent from Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s dream for enriching herself and her family only.
You know for the first 11 years in my business, I never knew anything about these sites.
And now, I’m angry because my foundation has been shaken.
The one thing I regret is going to see for myself one day. Reading that site totally ruined my day and now looking back, I now realize it ruined more than just that one day for me.
The rose-tinted lenses started to slip and now I’m having to hold them tightly to my face rather than look directly at the problem staring me in the face.
I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder.
So much cult-like behaviour.
Yes, it was my own choice to take a look, but I’ll never do it again.
Cult!
It cost me too much emotionally.
Emotional control cult behaviour.
I’ll stick to positive MK videos and listening to Top Sales Directors and Nationals on how to do this business the right way. I will not be taken down any longer.

Just my 2 cents. Have a great day!
Not even wroth one cent. You’ve added nothing to the debate apart from worthless repeated platitudes and your weak dream.
Note to Mary Kay director: Pink Truth isn’t going away.
And is being joined every day with more and more people seeing through the veils of deception.
That is a LOT of thought-blocking cliches packed into a single post! I have far exceeded my daily maximum and must now go lie down.
“Pink Truth Affects Our Attitude”
Good. Mission accomplished.
“It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity.”
This is what stood out the most to me in this woman’s post. They definitely want you in that pink bubble. The less outside contact the more they can manipulate you with their cult behavior. So one of the first things they are basically telling new or potential consultants is don’t research the company- they’ll tell you everything you need to know.
Why yes indeed it is hard to build an echo chamber. 😂 Do these women HEAR themselves???
You Stole My Dream: I hadd a dream that I could run fast enough to hop over the Grand Canyon, you said I cannot, som you stole my dream.
Yeah…that “five people” quote is made up motivational bull poo used by people in MLMs to manipulate their downlines into staying. However, if you spend all of your time with others in an MLM commercial cult, you certainly will become like them.
