Misery Loves Company
None of your negative comments get to me. You are ALL catty females that thought MK was a get rich quick scheme. from the looks of it. I just joined MK in November, but at 60 years of age, with a Nursing career behind me (which ultimately messed up my back) and babysitting my God son four days a week for 24/7, how is it that I am doing sales of a MINIMUM of $100/wk. WITHOUT really putting out a lot of effort?
In the course of my lifetime, I have known a LOT of women. The negative thinkers NEVER succeed at ANYTHING as long as they MUST pick apart anything that they didn’t succeed at themselves.
I’ve learned that these negative thinkers can only find validation in themselves if they put others down, be it groups or individuals. Only those who failed at their endeavors because of their own lack of effort and positive drive in life will cluster together, because MISERY LOVES COMPANY.
So, ladies, having stumbled upon this site, and gaining nothing but sour grapes, I will take my leave of your bitter negativity, because when one is not being lifted up, one is wise to extricate oneself from the trappings of being surrounded by unhappy people.
Au revoir, Mes Amie’s! Auf Wiedersehen!
“Catty females” that’s a new one /s.
No internalized misogyny there, no siree bob 🙄
Surprised it wasn’t spelled caddy.
Meow 😜
Yes, how IS it that you’re selling at least a Benjamin a week, every week? Do share your selling secrets. Your fellow consultants would love to know how you do it, since scoring a sale of less than $100 at a party is worth bragging about on Facebook.
While you’re at it, please explain how anyone is supposed to live on four bills a month, especially when they don’t have a pension from a nursing career and Social Security to pad it out.
Oh, and you can’t babysit your godson 24/7 if you only look after him 4 days a week. Words (numbers?) mean things.

(sorry if this posts twice. I think I mistyped my email address the first time)
That’s full time parenting not baby-sitting.
I keep getting caught up in her comment of MINIMUM $100week, wondering why it wouldn’t have been a loftier number. Can’t help but get the feeling she’s pulling, maybe, $500 a month, and once she figures in expenses, really isn’t ending up much better in the end.
More “stumbling”….
“I am doing sales of a MINIMUM of $100/wk. ” WOW … that’s AT LEAST $2600 a year before expenses. What are your expenses? Do you know? Because you need to track your expenses like you track vitals in an unstable ICU patient or suddenly your bank balance is crashing.
No one “stumbles” onto Pink Truth. She heard about it and sought it out. People who come to PT are either curious, want more information or think they are going to make a difference by saying we are all liars and losers. What she doesn’t understand is her post will change nothing. We will continue to tell our true stories for all the “stumblers” to hear!
No one says anything new on Fridays but I guess everyone here is supposed to feel so very chastised by these words.
I’m not very impressed by sales of $100 week because like most of the critics, you always seem to confuse sales versus profits.
As a Dior artist, I regularly sold $500 -$700 PER DAY. I guess she’s not working her business hard enough.
From one nurse to another, I see you as the type of nurse who ate her young. I see someone who was likely rough and bullied new grads because that is how it was for you. How many new grads did you make cry? How many other nurses left their shift with you feeling like a failure? Guess what, sweet cheeks? That mentality in nursing has changed because it’s uncivil and rude. It does nothing to build up the profession, and that kind of behavior is no longer tolerated.
There are parallels here between MK and nursing. How many directors “build up” people only to tear them to shreds when they ask questions or return products because MK wasn’t for them? (See also yesterday’s post.) How many bullies are there in MK? How many directors continue to use worn-out, dated scripts about selling, recruiting, making money, overcoming objections, and more because those are the scripts that worn-out, washed-up retired NSDs used?
If anything, Pink Truth has exposed the abuse and bullying because NO ONE should tolerate this. No one should be subjected to the misery of MLMs, including MK.
I bet she was simply deLIGHTful to her patients and their families, too 😮
For some reason, the word “battle ax” came to mind.
There is a time and a place to be a so-called battle ax nurse. I’ve been that nurse when advocating for my mental health patient in the ICU when psych kept passing the buck. I told the resident that it was HIS job to prescribe psych meds because that was HIS wheelhouse, not surgery’s. I also might have said something along the lines of, “Do your effing job before I find someone else who can.” The patient’s dad and surgery resident hugged me.
“how is it that I am doing sales of a MINIMUM of $100/wk. WITHOUT really putting out a lot of effort?”
Ooh, ooh, I want to play. My guesses are:
-You’re selling things at a discount, but aren’t actually bringing in that 50% profit Mary Kay touts
-You’re new to this so your warm market hasn’t dried up yet.
-You’re selling large quantities oversees
-You’re bringing Look Books to the hospital you used to work at and lots of people are ordering now. Let’s see if the sales keeps up.
-You’re using the worksheets Mary Kay gives you to track sales & expenses, so you’re actually not selling as much as you think.
Look many of us here have tried MK, not as a get rich quick scheme, but we truly thought it would work out. The really hard part is sustaining the level of sales after your warm market dries up.
