Pink Truth’s Claims Are Not True
My question for you is, have you yourself had an experience with Mary Kay itself? Actually become a Consultant, really read how it all started and why?
Just because some Directors and/or Consultants are not true to the Companies mission because they think their way of doing the business or that making the money fast even if it means taking advantage of people is the way to go does NOT make any of your claims true. Or are you basing this whole website on people who unfortunately had a terrible experience with the Company?
It is not the company’s fault that people are greedy and care more about themselves than for others. Unfortunately, thats true for any company in this world because, unfortunately, that’s what we’re all raised up to do, especially in America, to be successful no matter what the cost even that of innocent people.
Fine, what the people who have shared their stories had to go through is not right, but neither is wasting your time away bashing on the entire Company when some women actually work hard to make a difference in other womens lives… which in many cases means giving their lives away to make sure that the women they’re leading are indeed changing their lives for the better.
This opportunity DOES work if people are willing to actually work. That’s true for this Company and any other. There are still more testimonials of the positive impact this compact has had on women’s lives then there are negative. And there has been billions of dollars sold in the past 6 years compared to the 3 million returned and I’m certain if the people who returned product had better recruiters or took it into their own hands to find out the truth of things instead of being quitters which is such a common thing to do, they would have probably found something positive about the experience.
I really don’t believe a website like this encourages people, ok, so they feel better that there are people out there that can relate to them and then what? What other place in this world gives women the opportunity to dream and values them for who they truly are? So far I haven’t found another. Just because someone else didn’t know how to paint the full picture (the honest to goodness picture) for them because of their selfishness does NOT make ANY of your claims about the Company as a whole true.
And if you haven’t tried the business and truly been emersed in what we do and stand for than you’re not qualified to state any claims at all. Any other day I wouldn’t have taken the time to even read anything on your site but reading websites like these on a bad day just really hit a nerve, because the day that someone from a site like this is talking about how one company is a ‘fraud’ but they’ve come up with something better which is REALLY impacting women’s lives for the better instead of giving them yet another place online for them to feel sorry about themselves and gossiping about others, then maybe I’ll consider it.
This is laughable. Doesn’t this person realize that the people who post on here ARE former successful Directors and Consultants? Yes, I said successful because we were. We followed all the rules, did it the “Mary Kay Way”. But then reality hit and we couldn’t live the lie anymore. Maybe one day this person will face reality and when she does, we’ll be here for her.
The consultant is the true customer from Mary Kay Corp’s perspective. PTC, until you recognize this, you will be blind to how Mary Kay really makes money, and you will fail to understand the anti-MLM movement in general and Pink Truth in particular.

“This opportunity DOES work if people are willing to actually work. That’s true for this Company and any other.”
“DOES work” for who? Those making any real money in MLMs like Mary Kay are doing so at the expense of their own downline. Downline losses are required for upline profitability. This is NOT true of traditional companies, where it is possible for everyone to make positive income. Research shows that for every MLMer turning a profit, another 249 must be losing money.
I personally have no issue with someone choosing to sell beauty products out of their home. It is the endless-chain recruiting aspects that causes all the trouble.
Change the following and most folks would take a “live and let live” attitude toward Mary Kay:
– Eliminate recruiting
– Pay commissions only on product sold to outside customers
– Pay all the commission only to the rep making the actual sale, and no one else
– Eliminate qualifying minimums (including the $225 wholesale per quarter)
– Eliminate front-loading (initial inventory packages)
– Stop exaggerating the opportunity
These changes would remove the financial risk to the consultant, and make it “possible” for all consultants to turn a profit. It would also happen to remove Mary Kay Corp’s two biggest revenue streams (front loading and qualifying minimums) which is why they won’t do it.
PTC, you’ve been sold a lie. Open your eyes to what is really going on.
My question for you is, have you yourself had an experience with Mary Kay itself? Actually become a Consultant, really read how it all started and why?
Ma’am, the site is full of women who were successful in terms that Mary Kay judges success.
Just because some Directors and/or Consultants are not true to the Companies mission because they think their way of doing the business or that making the money fast even if it means taking advantage of people is the way to go does NOT make any of your claims true.
No, it makes most, if not all, of the claims true. If you can find one to refute, please show us your workings like a math problem.
Or are you basing this whole website on people who unfortunately had a terrible experience with the Company?
The former consultants and directors at all levels have frequently spoken out about their good times within Mary Kay.
It is not the company’s fault that people are greedy and care more about themselves than for others.
True, but MLM’s encourage that kind of behaviour by their very existence.
Unfortunately, thats (sic) true for any company in this world because, unfortunately, that’s what we’re all raised up to do, especially in America, to be successful no matter what the cost even that of innocent people.
Not a very glowing compliment for your country of origin.
Fine, what the people who have shared their stories had to go through is not right,
Thank you, it wasn’t.
but neither is wasting your time away bashing on the entire Company when some women actually work hard to make a difference in other womens (sic) lives…
Back to these worn out tropes. I’m not wasting my time here.
which in many cases means giving their lives away to make sure that the women they’re leading are indeed changing their lives for the better.
I suppose it’s far too much trouble expecting Ms. PTC to name one of these alleged Super Boss Babes faithfully toiling away to enrich others at not gain for herself.
This opportunity DOES work if people are willing to actually work.
I guess you’ve never seen this. It shows that regardless of how hard an individual works, the system is rigged against them.

That’s true for this Company and any other. There are still more testimonials of the positive impact this compact has had on women’s lives then there are negative.
See the linked image. That proves that many people are suffering in silence rather than rolling in cash.
And there has been billions of dollars sold in the past 6 years compared to the 3 million returned
A bit “apropos of nothing”.
and I’m certain if the people who returned product had better recruiters or took it into their own hands to find out the truth of things instead of being quitters which is such a common thing to do, they would have probably found something positive about the experience.
I love the smell of
napalmvictim blaming in the morning.I really don’t believe a website like this encourages people, ok, so they feel better that there are people out there that can relate to them and then what?
Oh, the horrors! Finding people who can relate to them means that they might find the strength to actually do something positive for themselves and I don’t know.. return their products, plug a hole in their debt and walk away heads held high??
What other place in this world gives women the opportunity to dream and values them for who they truly are? So far I haven’t found another.
According to almost any other MLM, that is THEIR Company and their company alone!
Just because someone else didn’t know how to paint the full picture (the honest to goodness picture) for them because of their selfishness does NOT make ANY of your claims about the Company as a whole true.
Sadly, you have not chosen ONE single claim to refute. I’d be more inclined to believe you if you could do that.
And if you haven’t tried the business and truly been emersed in what we do and stand for than you’re not qualified to state any claims at all.
And yet, many of the women who post here were highly successful in terms of Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s own rules.
Any other day I wouldn’t have taken the time to even read anything on your site but reading websites like these on a bad day just really hit a nerve,
Why is someone whose bathing in the glow of her success in Mary Kay having a bad day? Is this one of those horrible “dippy days” that your nashy nash warns you about?
because the day that someone from a site like this is talking about how one company is a ‘fraud’
Given that Mary Kay is a multi-national multi-billion dollar company employing many thousands of people worldwide, excluding Australia and New Zealand, why should it be exempt from examination? Does this site make you think outside the pretty pink box and put worrying thoughts into your head about your credit card debt?
but they’ve come up with something better which is REALLY impacting women’s lives for the better
My linked income disclosure shows otherwise. For one person to become a success, 249 have to fail. Unless your mother is about to stand down and bequeath you her NSD unit. Then instant success!
instead of giving them yet another place online for them to feel sorry about themselves and gossiping about others, then maybe I’ll consider it.
There’s a whole internet out there for you to make your own “safe space”. No-one is holding a gun to your head and make you read here.
–What other place in this world gives women the opportunity to dream and values them for who they truly are?
No, this company doesn’t value women for who they truly are. It values them for what’s inside their wallet. Hopefully a whole stack of credit cards backed up by low self-esteem.
Mary Kay doesn’t encourage women to be themselves or to be strong. In fact, everything the company does, from the initial sale to the inventory to the ridiculous contests, drives home the fact that you don’t have everything you need. But it’s ok. Because if you buy enough products and cut your hair the right way and wear the right makeup and your nails are on-trend and your heels are high enough, your besties in this company will adore you and encourage you. But don’t slip up! Don’t have a bad day! Don’t become a Negative Nelly. Or you’ll have to hold the “stinkin thinkin” skunk at the unit meeting and your failure will be on display for all the world to see. So just keep dressing up, showing up, and ordering that product. And then you’ll feel complete.
I stopped reading after the first paragraph… I don’t have the spare brain cells for this drivel and gaslighting today. There are better things on my to-do list, like folding laundry.
If Mary Kay really does work, how much money (after expenses please) are you making annually? Nobody here knows who you are, so don’t be shy about disclosing your income. I don’t expect a response on this, I’ve asked the question about a hundred times and only once did I get an answer. It wasn’t anything impressive or I would have remembered it.
And can we compare it against the Canadian Income Disclosure I linked to earlier?
CHALLENGE: Please point out WHICH Pink Truth claims are false and back it up with verifiable data.
What other place in this world gives women the opportunity to dream and values them for who they truly are?
Ugh, how patronizing and infantilizing! I can (and should) dream on my own time. I don’t need my employer to tell me what to dream; I need them to pay me a fair salary for the work I do—and I am very happy and content that I have such an employer.
And I also do not need my employer to venture an opinion on “who I truly am.” As a grown woman, I already have that figured out. Like I said, just pay me for the good work that I do.
My only two questions for you are:
– Do you realize Mary Kay uses the MLM system?
– Do you understand how the MLM system actually works?
Valued for who you are?? Don’t order next month, quit your business and return the inventory, skip meetings to spend time with family, post something true but ‘negative’ about your MK experience, and see if you are still valued for who you truly are. They can’t speak out of both sides of their mouth, the fact this is a numbers game, using scripts to find ‘hot buttons’ and manipulate people into joining and buying inventory, encouraging women to ignore their families or manipulate their husbands for MK, and calling women ‘losers’ or ‘heifers’ shows people aren’t valued beyond what they can provide financially. That’s all they are selling is a dream, and one that almost never comes true (and if it does it is only because so many others have lost money funding it).
