Mary Kay on Violation of Contracts

“How does Mary Kay respond to complaints about independent sales force activities that violate the terms of Independent Beauty Consultant, Independent Sales Director and/or Independent National Sales Director agreements?”

When it comes to situations regarding contractual violations, we strive to give each independent sales force member an opportunity to learn and become better and stronger. Therefore, if a contractual violation comes to our attention, we work with each sales force member to educate her, ensure she understands, and then offer her opportunities to correct the situation. Naturally, however, if the activities in question continue despite all our efforts, we sometimes are left with no choice but to terminate our contractual relationship with that independent sales force member.

So, if you receive a letter or a phone call from the Legal Support Team bringing a contractual violation to your attention, remember that it’s not the end of the world and we understand that anyone can make mistakes. We simply ask that you take our efforts to bring an issue to your attention seriously and pay close attention to the information we provide to ensure that you understand what went wrong and how you can avoid engaging in the same activity in the future. If you don’t understand, we encourage you to ask questions until you do.

In the meantime, with approximately 700,000 independent sales force members in the United States, it is impossible for us to be aware of everything that every sales force member is doing at all times. If we don’t hear about it, we likely won’t know that a problem may exist. So by all means, if you have first-hand information regarding questionable business practices of an independent sales force member, or if you have questions about something you are doing or may consider doing in the future, please contact the Mary Kay Legal Support Team at 972-687-5777 or legalsupport@mkcorp.com.

We work hard to ensure that we only take action based upon first-hand and specific information and evidence, remembering that unsubstantiated rumors, speculation or other second- or third-hand reports which can not be verified are rarely reliable or true. Therefore, we simply ask that you be prepared to provide specific information and evidence in writing to support your claims, so that we can determine if an investigation is warranted.

We’re here to ensure you have the information you need to build and maintain your Mary Kay business on a solid foundation. If you ever have questions about your Independent Beauty Consultant, Independent Sales Director or Independent National Sales Director agreement, please contact the Legal Support Team at 972-687-5777 or legalsupport@mkcorp.com.

  1. Received a copy of “Coupon Magazine of Grand Blanc” and inside is a big ad of “Niras Beautik” advertising “Mary Kay Products”.

  2. I lynette blaine have not made a purchases since MARCH 20012. my ID# was7860BJ, my representative was LINDA ADEJUMO and she is using my name to make purchases without my permission. I keep getting e-mails due to purchases when i’m not making them! linda was the only one that knew my id# ,password and e-mail address.please stop her from making purchases in my name. my phone# is 407-485-4050 thank you and have a great day!

    • Am I understanding you correctly? You are an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics and you have not personally ordered any products from the company since March. Your recruiter or director has access to your consultant number, login information and password as has ordered products from the company in your name; using your IBC consultant number.

If this is the case, you need to call Mary Kay, Inc. and report this fraudulent activity. Should you decide to terminate your IBC agreement and discontinue your MK business you must cancel your IBC number so that your director cannot continue to place orders under your name.

    • Lynette,
You have to call MK Corporate yourself to cancel your number.

Now, there is some good news which comes out of this. She can not return products to Mary Kay which she ordered in your name, but you can use her orders to justify returning products you got stuck with! Since she placed orders within the past 12 months, your window of opportunity to return products just got extended.

When you call to cancel your consultant number tell them you want the paperwork to return products. Then when it arrives go through your shelves, box up anything that matches the list from MK Corporate, and get your refund for some of that useless “full store” that your representative insisted you had to buy.

And welcome to PT! Looking forward to hearing an update!

    • Turn her in on this website complaint.ic3.gov. to report her. I had someone who ordered stuff and this is what Marykay company gave me to report the lady that scammed me.
