  1. How on earth does a product that isn’t to be available to consultants until JUNE become available on EBAY in MARCH? Who does this?

$38 retail and I can’t buy it from a consultant until June—but I can bid on it now on an online auction?

    • Uh … it can’t be the “porch thieves” who are rumored to follow UPS trucks and snatch Mary Kay boxes from the front porches of consultants. Because the only ones who can order now are the directors and NSDs.

So, who else has access to product before the release date? I know! It must be those dishonest warehouse workers, stealing the new stuff and sneaking it out the door to sell on eBay. Mary Kay corporate needs to improve the security in those buildings.

Because it CERTAINLY wouldn’t be a Golden Rule-following Sales Director ordering it and reselling it in violation of their contract. They wouldn’t besmirch the reputation of Mary Kay that way. They wouldn’t undercut their consultants by making it “old news” before June.

      Would they?

  2. And how does the ebay seller get her hands on 7 of them? Crazy. Not to mention all the changes (again) in products.

  3. The new lash products have been on Ebay for a while now. My understanding is that Directors get first crack at new products, and from articles I have read they stock up and get someone else to sell on Ebay before they are even available from the company. This has been going on for so long it makes my head spin. Now I haven’t seen the new US version of the Botanical Line on Ebay yet, I have seen the new, horrible, Limited Edition stuff, that’s when I found the lash products. Actually did a post in the forums.

Anyway, it really plucked my feathers when MK shut down Touch of Pink, when I was using MK I shopped there more than I did with my own consultant. It would piss her off…I would need a foundation or a powder and I had to tell her hey, no offense, but why the hell would I pay full price with you?

So, its a racket. If you are every wondering what new products MK is coming out with, check Ebay first.

  4. Can somebody ask her how she has a product that is not available until June? I will do it later if no one else does, but I am only up at 6 in the morning to get my daughter to school and then I am going back to bed.

  5. When I was a SD- we were able to get the new items that were launching on the 15th of any given month, about the 25th on the month prior to launch.

I have no idea if NSD’s get this much ‘early notice’, but my hunch is… this is a NSD or someone affiliated with a NSD.

hmmm, not sure if I would be game to use this product either. Something that affects the eye area like this (without an opthamologist care)- makes me a little nervous.

  6. This is the same seller who had the Spring Limited Edition products before they were available as well. I did send her the following question:

“I was very surprised to see this item, as it won’t even be available for consultants to purchase until June. I’ve noticed that you carry a lot of MK items before they are available to consultants. I use Mary Kay and sold it years ago, but now rely on eBay to get the best prices on fresh product. How can I be certain that your products are legitimate, since they’re not available yet?”

    We’ll see how/if she responds…

    • Well, I guess she answered my last question. I should’ve worded things better.

“First of all what do you mean by legitmate are you asking if they are authentic if that is the question yes they are all authentic as to how i get these items before they are all available you should know by now if you search enough you can find anything you want on Ebay please advise if you satified with my answer
      Kind regards”

She seems to follow the Kaybot pattern of lack of punctuation. Mercy!

      • So I’ll keep pushing.

“If the products are authentic, then I’m concerned that the products may be stolen. These products are not available to the MK sales force until June.”

        I’ll keep you all posted.

        • Okay so I sent a message saying I wondered how she got the products not available until June…that was the only question.

  7. Yep, the items are only available to sales directors. So that means a sales director is selling on eBay. I wonder how MK Inc feels about that, especially since they’re currently pursing legal action against consultants selling on ebay?

    • You would think that they would hire someone for close to minimum wage and have then search e-bay, craigslist, amazon and bring these people to their attention. I might not like the company, or how they do things, but this is not really cool for the poor IBC’s out there who are then going to be pushed for buying this new stuff and limited editions.

I can not believe that this seller can continue selling when the stuff isn’t out yet. Obviously older product is understandable. This is not.

      • They ARE doing that. MK has started legal action against consultants and former consultants…. claiming that they have no legal right to sell products on ebay.

        • No right to sell a product the IBC/SD/NSD bought and paid for?????

Maybe it’s ok now since the DALLAS RADIO INTERVIEW re HARPERS MK article???

The MK Corporate rep who was interviewed said that IBC’s OWN THEIR PRODUCTS!

  8. IN-
    CREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Available on e-bay (sold out a few hours ago) but not to consultants, not a peep of information on In-Touch!!! And oh yeah, they changed In-touch, it seems a bit harder to navigate. sure they want to enrich women’t lives!!

  9. That same person linked above to Ebay, I sent her links to MK corporate in an email. I hope they shut her down, or do something. I was pissed when MK shut down Touch of Pink Cosmetics, AND the way they went after TOP, they need to do the same for these people on Ebay.

For some reason, I don’t care if MK is sold on Ebay, but what does bother me is new product is already out there before the consultants get a chance to sell it. This birdie60 is taking money out of consultants pockets, just like everything else MK.

  10. I love the ‘soap opera feel’ of all this. The day I confronted my SD about wether or not SDs remained friends w/cons. who quit was dark indeed. Things have never been the same. She’s never called me in, let’s see,…………it’s been 8 years now. Guess the b-b-q thingy is out, yes?

I can hardly contain myself for all the ‘go-give’ Christian love oozing out of SDs. It took but a few days for the rest of the group to black-ball me as well. I am black-balled to this day and I haven’t been a cons. in 7 years. Wow. The maturity level of these women astounds me.

A few weeks after this event, I bought some product from another MK cons. When I carefully asked how our SD was doing, before I could even finish the sentence, this gal blurts out, “I don’t want to hear one negative thing about Miss SD!” I wasn’t saying anything ‘negative.’ I simply inquired about her well-being in a very pleasant manner.

As for this lash stuff, Maybelline, here I come.

It stung and here’s why: I had never said anything to anyone else besides the SD. She went on a campaign of ‘negativity’ about me. But that’s O.K., b/c now I know. It’s funny by now.

  11. $14 for sunscreen? $15 for mascara? LOL! I would never pay those prices. Sorry, MK consultant, I’m off to my local discount drugstore.

  12. Actually as sales directors, we just found out about these changes last week in our directors memo. Has to come from a higher level than us. It wouldn’t usually be available to a sales director until the 26th of the month before it launches.

  13. And that kind of BS is why I left MK. I wasn’t allowed to sell the stuff on Ebay, but plenty of others got away with it and took business from me. Stupid me for following the rules.
