Annoying a Prospect Who Is Dodging Your Calls

These Mary Kay scripts are from the Shannon Andrews national area. They’re suggested voicemail messages to leave for someone you’ve met warm stalking and want to turn into a recruit.

The scripts really speak for themselves:

1st voicemail: (the first day AFTER you met her)
Hey_________, it’s __________. I ran into you yesterday at ________________. I just wanted to get back to you like I told you I would. I was so impressed with you yesterday. I admire you for seeing the value of exploring your options. I think you would be incredible in our business and I would love for you to meet some of the Top Directors in our business. Again, I want to be clear that we are attracting very professional women to the leadership side of our company and most of our top directors are earning into 6-figures. My National Director is 35 and makes a quarter of a million dollars a year. Give me a call back and we can figure out a time for you to meet some of our former corporate executives who typically make between $8-10,000 a month. My number again is _____________.

2nd voicemail: (the second day)
Hey_____________. It’s ___________. I was running into a meeting and thought I might catch you. Give me a call so we can set up a time for you to meet some of our Top Directors and get the career updates about our business. I can tell you more about product discounts, FREE cars, and tax write-offs and how women are making into 6-figures. My number is_________.

3rd voicemail: (the third day)
Hey_____________. It’s ____________. I’ve left you a couple of messages and I didn’t know if you had received any of them. My national director will be in town this week and I would love for you to take advantage of meeting such a dynamic woman. Again, she is 35 years old and makes $250,000 a year. She absolutely loves what she does and has earned trips all over the world with our company. She loves her career because it gives her flexibility with her time, a lot of recognition, and an executive income on her terms instead of someone else’s. Call me and we can set up a time for you to hear more about our business. My number is ____________.

4th voicemail: (the fifth day)
Hey_____________. It’s ____________. I wanted to make sure we were still on the same page. You seemed very interested in hearing more about our business when we first met, but I haven’t heard back from you. If you are still interested in meeting some of the Top women in our business I would be more than happy to set up a time, but if for some reason you have changed your mind please let me know. I am a woman of my word and wanted to follow up with you because I said I would, but I would hate for you to interpret my messages as bothersome. Please let me know either way. Again, My number is __________. Thank you.

5th voicemail: (the seventh day)
Hey ___________. It’s _____________. Obviously this is a bad time for you. However, I would still like to send you a goodie bag of samples and put you on my preferred customer list so that you can stay up-to-date with the new image of the company. Call me back or send me an email with your mailing address and I’ll be happy to have my assistant customize a bag for you! I hope you have a great week! My number is _____________.

  1. Thank goodness for call blocking, which was undoubtedly invented by someone who was sick of being on the receiving end of this sort of thing.
Of course, the “clever” MK weasels will make with the *67 before commencing the harassment process.
I’m sure I’m not the only (former) kaybot who was never able to bring herself to stalk people this relentlessly, nor am I sure to be the only one who actually felt GUILTY over not being able to do it. (How twisted is that. Sooo glad to be out!)
