It's so hard to buy your own cosmetics!

That was the line I was always fed, and the one I fed my downline and customers. My superior customer service meant that you'd never run out of anything! I could deliver at any time and save you the monumental hassle of going to the mall for high-end products.

What a load of bunk!

I ran out of eye makeup remover yesterday. So you know what I did? Ran to the grocery store, grabbed milk and a couple of necessities, and while I was there, I picked up a bottle of Neutrogena eye makeup remover. It was less than half the price of MK, same quality, and I didn't have to wait two days for my consultant to "be in my area" with her basket of goodies to upsell me, or wait for her to mail it to me.

Superior customer service for superior products. Yeah... right...

I'm pretty sure I"m not the only one who...

....finds it very cathartic to wander around at Sephora, check out different brands, rub sample products on my hands, go in for one little item and end up walking out with 6 items...

If I was desperate at 2AM ... I could go to WINCO and get cosmetics.

Sometimes I enjoy wandering Sephora and Ulta and getting lost in all the different options. Sometimes I like to grab something quick at the grocery store. Never anymore do I feel the need to call someone on Friday morning when I figure out I'm out of foundation and hope and pray she comes through by Monday when I need some again. I'm still a little flabbergasted that I used to think that was great customer service and that I, the awe-inspiring super duper professional beauty consultant, was indispensable to my clients.

No, it's not difficult to buy your own cosmetics.

I can wander around Ulta, try some samples, view things in person, and purchase what I like. I can also order items online for curbside or in-store pickup, which means more wandering in the store. I can order products online and have them shipped to my door. No pants are required for THAT shopping trip!

I like my local Ulta a lot. I've gotten to know one of the assistant managers, and when I come into the store, she always greets me and lets me know what's new with NARS, Too Faced, Tarte, and more. AND she makes sure I get some free goodies when I shop.
Nurses: we can't fix stupid, but we sure as heck can sedate it.   Smile

I never in my life found it hard to buy cosmetics. Computers and appliances, yes; cosmetics, no. Because it usually involved going into a store I'd been into a jillion times before and picking up one of the same thing.

I too enjoy my local Ulta, mostly because of their giant scented body wash selection. I keep sniffing and picking up and putting down random bottles until I find THE perfect one, which 99% of the time is Body Shop Pink Grapefruit. But I put them back where they belong, at least. Then on to the manicure tools...
